Del Potro: "It's a great source of pride to have won important titles at the same time as Novak, Roger and Rafa".

Del Potro: It's a great source of pride to have won important titles at the same time as Novak, Roger and Rafa.

Juan Martin del Potro spoke on the occasion of his farewell match against Novak Djokovic. He talks about his state of mind and his career: "Over the last few days, I've opened my heart a little more and told my story of the last few years.

I've had a wonderful career. It's very difficult to compete with Novak Djokovic, to play Grand Slam finals against them, but for me, it's been a privilege to spend my entire career at the same time as the three greatest players in history.

My story is more unique because of the injuries I suffered. When I was at my best or battling with them in the rankings, something happened to me and I had to start from scratch.

That's part of my story, and that's what makes it so special. In this world, everything moves so fast that it's hard to appreciate the moments.

For me, it's a great source of pride to have won important titles at the same time as Novak, Roger and Rafa.

They're in a different league. Novak has completed the wheel of our sport, something unique in history.

It's great to have him by my side and I'm very grateful for what we're experiencing. These titles, in a few years' time, I'll be able to say: 'I stole them from them and I've got them at home.'"
