Following Krejcikova in Seoul, Emma Raducanu experienced another disappointment in Beijing.

Facing Jessica Pegula, the British player had taken the lead in the match (6-3), before seeing her opponent raise her level of play a bit more.

In a battle during the second set, the two players had to settle the score in a breath-taking tie-break. Raducanu, who produced high-quality tennis, unfortunately failed to convert the three match points she created in that decisive game. A situation that strongly recalls her duel against Krejcikova in Seoul two weeks ago (4-6, 7-6(10), 6-1).

On her side, Pegula remained solid afterward to secure her qualification for the round of 16 of the Chinese tournament: she will face Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk. It's worth noting that the American benefited from a hampered Raducanu at the end of the final set, who was visibly suffering from a back issue.

I bet she will fire her coach today, hire another one, and produce some AMAZING 1st round wins in a row.

Albeit, how many other coaches are available atm, plus why would anyone want to sign up to work with her for a few weeks only?
