Friday's program at the Laver Cup
The eighth edition of the Laver Cup finally gets underway this Friday, with the first four matches on the program.
After two consecutive victories for Team World, the European team has pulled out all the stops to reclaim the trophy this season, fielding a dream team that includes no fewer than 5 top 10 players (Alcaraz, Medvedev, Zverev, Ruud, Dimitrov).
The competition opens this Friday with a first singles match between Casper Ruud and Francisco Cerundolo, not before 1pm.
Immediately afterwards, the event will feature a reunion match between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Thanasi Kokkinakis, the man who eliminated him from the US Open.
As for the night session, it's Grigor Dimitrov who opens the ball with a duel against Alejandro Tabilo (not before 7pm).
Finally, the evening will conclude with a doubles match pitting Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz against John McEnroe's 100% American pairing of Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton.
As a reminder, each win on this first day will earn the team concerned one point.
The first team to score a minimum of 13 points wins the Laver Cup.
