Fritz warns Sinner: "The half was much more stressful".
Taylor Fritz has a date with history this Sunday.
He's about to take on Jannik Sinner in the US Open final. Supported by an entire nation, he hopes to become the first American to win a title since Andy Roddick in 2003.
Interviewed in the press conference, the world number 12 nevertheless seemed quite serene, explaining that the most stressful part was behind him: "To be honest, I don't think I'll find myself in a more stressful situation than today (Friday) playing in the final.
The semi-final was much more stressful. Two Americans, both wanting to get to the final...
And, in my head, I knew I had a 6-1 record against Frances.
I didn't think I was the favorite, because here everything is different, especially as he's been incredible throughout the US Open, but with all these parameters, there was a lot of tension."
