Alexander Zverev, last year's finalist at Roland-Garros, fell in the quarter-final on Wednesday against Novak Djokovic.

Beyond this loss, the world No. 3 mostly seemed disheartened in the game, not finding solutions to trouble his opponent. In a press conference, he acknowledged Djokovic's superiority:

"What can I tell you? He has won 24 Grand Slams. Yes, I expected him to be capable of playing at this level. His level of play was very high. It was difficult for me in the first set when the sun was still there. But I made some winning shots and bothered him with my serve.

Later when it started to get colder, I couldn't do much. At one point, I had no idea how to win a baseline point against him. He finds a solution to everything I attempted. All the credit goes to him, he played better than me today. [...]

A lot of people underestimate him. This year, he beat Alcaraz in Melbourne and me in Paris. For the rest of the year, those are very good results for anyone. He continues to beat the best in the world.

You kinda gave up 3rd set, hanging your head instead of digging in, thats no way to let your opponent see you, not good for spectators either

He was out of breath and losing his legs at the end of the fourth. Had you simply made him run early and often from the beginning you would have easily won. Heck ... if you had started running him at the end of the fourth you would have outright owned him in fifth.
Except for the first set you look like you were paid to lose.

You all sound just like Nadal. Never a nice word for the opponent.
