Despite a semifinal defeat at Roland-Garros, Djokovic left with honors from a Parisian crowd admiring the career of the Grand Slam record holder.
When questioned and relayed by Tennis World Italia, the player's former coach, Becker, discussed the Serb's future:

"When I think about it, I get goosebumps again. Sooner or later, it had to happen (the Roland-Garros semifinal loss). He's 38. He's had a mediocre year. The semifinal in Melbourne was good. The final in Miami was fantastic. But on clay, apart from Geneva, he hasn't been up to par.

Now he has to ask himself: if he doesn't win enough, why keep playing? I mean, he wants to win 25 major tournaments. That's his goal. I think he's good on grass—it's easier for him than on clay. And with this week's performances, why not go for it? But in a year, who knows if we'll see him at Roland-Garros again?

He needs to call it a day, can't win slams cos either Sinner or Alcaraz going to send him packing, plus one 5 setter along the way and he'l be toast for the next round even if he escapes the said 5 setter
