Jaime Alcaraz, Carlos' younger brother, at the Petits As tournament

With the Australian Open in full swing and Carlos Alcaraz set to challenge Novak Djokovic in what promises to be a spectacular quarter-final, his younger brother, Jaime, was involved this weekend in the international qualifiers for the Petits As tournament.

Jaime Alcaraz, aged 13, reached the first round of qualifying yesterday against Erikas Balkunas (6-3, 6-2), before losing to Filip Sebek (7-5, 7-6) on Sunday.

Despite this elimination, he caused quite a stir in the media, with several videos and photos circulating, notably of his first match yesterday (see publication below).

Asked about his little brother at a press conference on Sunday, Carlos Alcaraz had this to say:

"I'm delighted to see him taking part in these competitions, as I was at his age. Obviously, I'm behind him all the way. It doesn't matter if I'm on the other side of the world."
