Krejcikova back in the WTA Top 10

Krejcikova back in the WTA Top 10

Barbora Krejcikova completely changed the course of her 2024 season by winning the 137th edition of Wimbledon on Saturday. Her only previous appearance beyond the second round was at the Australian Open in January. Hampered by a back injury, then weakened by a stubborn virus, she suffered a series of premature defeats.

The results were felt in the rankings. Number 10 in the world at the beginning of January, she was only 32nd when she took to the grass at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

But instead of one defeat after another, she began to rack up victories. As a result, she will leap 22 places in the WTA rankings on Monday to regain world number 10.
