Kyrgios is back!
This time, it's done.
After almost two seasons without a match, the talented Australian has finally returned to competition.
After an appearance at US Open Fan Week, playing doubles alongside Naomi Osaka, Kyrgios played his first match at the UTS in New York.
Although the result was only slightly representative given the very alternative system of play, the 29-year-old showed some very good stuff, particularly on the backhand.
Having beaten Ruud (17-8, 21-9, 15-11), he will now face Gaël Monfils, who beat Rublev (17-8, 21-9, 15-11) in the event's semi-finals.
If he remains as committed as ever, we can only hope that the whimsical Australian gets back to playing ATP!
