Musetti on the birth of his son: "Ludovico has an impact on the player I am".
Having become a father for the first time in March 2024, Lorenzo Musetti has spoken about the changes that the birth of his son Ludovico may have brought to his everyday life.
Musetti has been growing wings for some time now. His strong second half of the season has seen him almost equal his career-high ranking (the Italian is currently 17th on the ATP).
At the beginning of the year, he welcomed a new addition to his family: his son.
In an interview with Tennis.com, the 22-year-old looked back on the events of recent months: "I was a bit scared of everything, to be honest.
Especially when he was just born. I was scared to hold him. When the nurse gave him to me for the first time, I held him naturally. It was amazing," he says.
"The birth of my son gave me a lot of responsibility. Not only as a father, but also as a player.
Even though I think I still need to do more, it will probably enable me to achieve even better results.
"I'm very, very close to my family. When I have the opportunity to travel with them, I don't hesitate to do so. The last eight months have gone by very quickly and I've already seen a lot of changes in him.
All I can think about now is the future, when he starts to walk and talk. I'm also looking forward to the time when he understands what his father does for a living."
