Nadal on the comparison between the Alcaraz/Sinner generation and his own: "We'll have to wait and see".
Interviewed at the "Six Kings Slams", the exhibition held this week in Saudi Arabia, Rafael Nadal reflected on the superb season being put together by Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
Without questioning the level of performance of the two young wolves previously named, he explained that it was still too early to compare their performances with those achieved by himself, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.
In all simplicity, he declared: "We'll have to wait and see. This year, they've already won two Grand Slams each. They're number 1 and number 2 in the world.
They're creating their own history. I don't think this is the time to compare eras.
Because Novak is still here. Roger and I are gone... But that's part of everyone's sporting career.
Now, a new generation is arriving. We have to let them create their own rivalries and their own history.
They don't need comparisons with us. We'll see at the end of their careers, when it's time to make the comparison between what they've done and what we've done."
