Osaka: "We need to change the culture of mental health".

Osaka: We need to change the culture of mental health.

Naomi Osaka has always talked a lot about mental health, an increasingly recurrent theme in top-level sport.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar magazine, she stresses the need to get things moving.

It's normal not to be well," she says. I think there's always been a lot of shame and embarrassment about things like that, but it certainly shouldn't be.

We all go through things and it's important to talk about them and help each other. I truly believe that talking about it and being more transparent is essential to changing the culture of mental health.

For a long time, we had the impression that it was a subject we weren't supposed to talk about, but I think the more we talk about it, the more we realize how many people suffer from it."
