Jessica Pegula could have been shaken.

Since Coco Gauff's elimination on Sunday, the world number 6 has been, without question, the best chance of an American women's title.

Far from buckling under the pressure, Pegula once again produced a very solid match to subdue a previously in-form Shnaider in just under an hour and a half (6-4, 6-2).

Continuing her rise to prominence, the 30-year-old now boasts a record of 13 wins from 14 matches. What's more, she qualified for the quarter-finals without losing a single set.

Against an in-form opponent, she missed nothing, either on serve (81% of points won on first ball) or in the game (23 winners).

For a place in the last four, Pegula will have her work cut out, as world number 1 Iga Swiatek is sure to be up against it, unless Luidmila Samsonova pulls off a surprise tonight.
