A finalist in Paris last week, Ugo Humbert surprised everyone with his self-sacrifice and highly demonstrative behavior on the court.
It's a change of attitude that has clearly enabled him to go further than he could have imagined at the start of the tournament.
Event director Cédric Pioline tried to explain for Eurosport: "He's probably acquiring a belief, which is growing about who he is, his identity, his possibilities. His attitude is conquering.
I think he's someone who was perhaps a little reserved and who, in a way, is forcing himself a little to be demonstrative, to go out and get the public. But it works, and when it works, it's always good."
