Ugo Humbert became the first French player to successfully defend his Open 13 title, winning the 2025 edition at the expense of Hamad Medjedovic.
Despite a solid performance in these indoor conditions, the Frenchman admitted to L'Equipe that he felt under pressure throughout the tournament:
"Frankly, it was one of my toughest titles, even though I didn't lose a set all week. It wasn't easy to manage. I didn't feel I was playing my best tennis.
Even today, it wasn't fabulous, but I made the best of it. I was tense all week, but I proved to myself that, even when tense, I had the resources to go for the title.
I lived with the stress all week. I'm really proud. It's great to be defending a title, it's fabulous.
