Medvedev on the Sinner case: "I hope this will set a precedent and allow everyone to better defend themselves".

Medvedev on the Sinner case: I hope this will set a precedent and allow everyone to better defend themselves.

Daniil Medvedev lost to Hamad Medjedovic in the semi-finals of the ATP 250 Marseille on Saturday.

At the press conference, he was asked about his opinion on Sinner's doping case and his three-month sanction.

He declared: "It's a subject we can discuss for hours. It's a political subject. Anyone can have an opinion and discuss it.

I hope that next time the players can do that, talk to WADA (the World Anti-Doping Agency). If WADA says to you, 'Well, we've found that, it's a two-year suspension', you say, 'No, I want one month'.

I hope this will set a precedent and enable everyone to defend themselves better than before. If that's not possible, it's going to be weird.

There's also a question of money with the lawyers - they do the work, not Jannik. And the better your lawyer, the better. That's the case all over the world, not just in tennis.

It's a bad signal if only Sinner can do it, but a very good signal if everyone will be able to do it."

Medvedev has a point. So now you can negotiate your sentence and make sure it doesn’t impede you from playing any grand slam. Sanctions à la carte.
