Rinderknech: "Fritz will cry a little less this time".
The atmosphere is hot ahead of the match between Arthur Rinderknech and Taylor Fritz in the second round of Wimbledon this Thursday. The two players met at Roland-Garros in 2023, and the Frenchman was loudly cheered on by the Court Suzanne Lenglen crowd.
The American didn't appreciate the hostile atmosphere at all, and complained about it. Rinderknech was quick to point this out, teasing him before their match on the grass of the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
Arthur Rinderknech: "My friend Taylor (smiles)! The atmosphere will be calmer and he'll cry a little less this time, I think. He had a bit of a moan when he said it was a bit too noisy for him. I've got nothing against him, but if he was expecting the French public to give him kisses between the points, he'd come to the wrong place. He had beaten me, bravo to him."
