Rublev on UTS: "Like a workout
Andrey Rublev hasn't completely finished his 2024 season yet. This weekend in London, he is taking part in the grand final of the UTS, the alternative circuit founded by Patrick Mouratoglou.
Asked about his participation in this original competition, Rublev said: "It's an exhibition tournament, but because of its format, it lends itself well to endurance training, because it's a high-intensity match, where the heart rate is very high. So it's like normal endurance training.
I was doing, say, last week, 30 to 40 minutes with a high heart rate. And here, it's perfect to keep doing it, but in a more competitive, tennis-like, fun way. Because here, you're not thinking about training. Instead, you think about how to win."
