Rybakina: "I knew Anna (Kalinskaya) had a few injuries".

In her post-match interview, Elena Rybakina reacted to Anna Kalinskaya's injury (apparently to her right wrist), which forced her to retire at the start of the second set of their Round of 16 match at Wimbledon. The 2022 winner explained that she would have liked to have won differently, but that she knew her opponent wasn't 100% physically fit.

Elena Rybakina: "It's definitely not the way I wanted to finish the match. Anna is a great player, and I knew she was suffering from a few injuries. If it's her wrist, obviously, it's very difficult to continue playing. I just wish her a speedy recovery."
