Dinara Safina, now a podcast host, spoke about Russian tennis and Daniil Medvedev in particular: "I have just one comment about Daniil in Turin. He was so tired!

He didn't seem to care about the tournament any more. I felt like telling him to rest, put his racket away and only pick it up again when he felt like training again.

His physical condition interfered greatly with his emotional condition. I'm sure Medvedev still wants to win a second Grand Slam. Today, however, many people are willing to do it, but the stars have to align."
