Gilles Simon celebrates his 40th birthday this Friday. A member of the golden generation of the Four Musketeers, alongside Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Richard Gasquet and Gaël Monfils, the right-hander has long written some of the finest pages in French tennis.
Number 6 in the world in 2009, he often embarrassed the best players on the planet with his combative, rugged tennis. Retired since Bercy 2022, where he eliminated Murray and Fritz, the Frenchman has become a coach and tactical advisor, notably joining Daniil Medvedev's staff.
