Sinner loses another set, but qualifies

Jannik Sinner is having a hard time getting started this week.

Already a 3-set winner over Nicolas Jarry in the first round, he was once again clearly dominated in the first set before raising his game to win with authority (3-6, 6-2, 6-3).

Faced with an opportunistic Roman Safiulin, the Transalpine didn't always seem at ease on court, committing more unforced errors than usual (24).

Nevertheless, the world number 1 did his job, and will now challenge Jiri Lehecka for a place in the semi-finals of the Beijing tournament.
