At the age of 38, Gaël Monfils is still doing very well, especially considering his age.

Back to playing top-quality tennis, the Frenchman dominated his compatriot Ugo Humbert in the third round of the Shanghai tournament (7-6, 2-6, 6-1).

In addition to his gala match against Alcaraz, Monfils also became the second oldest player to reach the last 16 of a Masters 1000 (after Federer).
