Comme 11 joueurs avant lui, l'Américain ne sera pas en capacité de disputer le Masters 1000 monégasque. Titré ce week-end à Houston, il devait jouer Lehecka au 1er tour. C'est Ruusuvuori, tête de série n°1 des qualifs, qui le remplace.
