"Top-level experience": Basavareddy explains the arrival of Gilles Cervara in his team
On the eve of the Next Gen ATP Finals, young Nishesh Basavareddy explains why he chose the French coach to help him in his development.
Just a few months after his split with Daniil Medvedev, Gilles Cervara is already returning to the ATP tour.
The French coach has decided to take young Nishesh Basavareddy, world No. 167, under his wing. A new challenge that will begin next week for Cervara, who is in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) to accompany the American at the Next Gen ATP Finals.
"He is interested in all aspects"
Basavareddy, in training this Sunday, spoke to ATP about this key addition to his team:
"He had a very long and fruitful partnership with Daniil. He was already a good player when they started working together, but they achieved amazing things afterwards.
I felt that top-level experience could help me at this stage of my career. He is interested in all aspects, not just those related to tennis. He is rigorous and professional in areas like nutrition and physical preparation, and that will help me."
