Stefanos Tsitsipas shared a funny anecdote that happened upon his arrival at the US Open.
On X, the Greek explained that a security guard checked his credentials three times before finally striking up a conversation with him.
'Tsitsipas, huh?' the guard reportedly asked him.
'Yes, sir,' the Greek player simply replied.
'My wife loves your quotes'
That's when the man reportedly confided that his wife was a big fan of Tsitsipas's famous quotes, which are often mocked on social media for their sometimes enigmatic or philosophical nature.
'My wife loves your quotes,' he told him.
After thanking the security guard, Tsitsipas learned the real reason behind this admiration.
'She uses them when she wants to tell me I'm talking nonsense.'
A response that clearly amused the Greek, who is used to seeing his many phrases posted on social media go viral regularly.
He will face Arthur Fils on Monday for his opening match in New York.
