US Open Qualifying: Ferro, Mladenovic, Burel Learn Their Draws — Six Frenchwomen in Action
The women's US Open qualifying draw is set. Six Frenchwomen will compete in New York, including Fiona Ferro, Kristina Mladenovic and Clara Burel.
The women's qualifying draw for the US Open is now known.
For the 2026 edition, six Frenchwomen will try to earn a spot in the main draw at Flushing Meadows.
Six Frenchwomen in the hunt
Fiona Ferro is the only Frenchwoman seeded in this draw. The former top-40 player will open against Rebecca Marino.
Kristina Mladenovic, who continues to chase her chances in singles, will face American Elvina Kalieeva. Clara Burel will take on Yexin Ma, while Harmony Tan meets Mary Stoiana.
Finally, Alice Tubello will challenge Priscilla Hon, and Caroline Monnet will face Anouk Koevermans.
Zheng chasing the main draw
Among the most recognizable players in these qualifiers, Qinwen Zheng naturally stands out. A US Open quarterfinalist in 2024, the Chinese player will begin against compatriot Xiaodi You.
Kristina Liutova, who won the title in Memphis last month after coming through qualifying, will need to get past Tatiana Prozorova.
