Vagnozzi, Sinner's coach, before the final against Zverev: "Jannik likes to be under pressure".
Tomorrow, Jannik Sinner will attempt to win his second consecutive Australian Open, after a fortnight in which he was never really troubled by the competition.
But he'll certainly be under pressure when he takes on Alexander Zverev, an opponent against whom he remains behind in the head-to-head record books (the German leads 4-2).
For his coach Simone Vagnozzi, it is precisely in tense situations that the world No. 1 is able to raise his game, as he explained to Eurosport :
"I think Jannik likes these situations under pressure. He likes to be in the storm. That's when he plays his best tennis.
In the semi-final against Shelton, the first set wasn't tactically his best set of the tournament.
But with his resilience, his taste for battle, he was able to survive at the end and played his best tie-break of the tournament."
