Jannik Sinner started his quarterfinal in Rome against Casper Ruud in top form, winning the first set 6-0 after just twenty minutes of play and losing only six points.
In the rally, the world No. 1 was unstoppable, as demonstrated by this point won right at the start of the match. On a slice that clipped the net cord, Sinner had to move forward and showcased all his skills in the short game, placing the ball at an angle impossible for Ruud to cover (see video below).
