After having to wait 47 years for their first Davis Cup title, Italy have now won their second in a row.
Solid winners over the Netherlands in Sunday's final, the Italians can savor the moment. They're making history. Filippo Volandri, Italy's Davis Cup captain, told Ubitennis that he was proud of his team's achievement.
All smiles, he declared himself happy to have won with Matteo Berrettini in his team: "We wanted to make history by winning twice in a row. I'm thinking of Matteo who couldn't play last year: we made a pact with Jannik, we wanted to come back here and win with him.
This was possible thanks to everyone's hard work, and also thanks to Arnaldi and Cobolli who helped us get here."
