Professional athletes are expected to act like professionals. And a big part of that is not being a poor sport. I fully understand Sabalenka's emotions, you're the number one player in the world and you just gifted your opponent the trophy because you choked big time ... who wouldn't be upset with their self. But that's beside the point. The expectation, especially of a professional, is to be gracious in defeat. Oh, and nobody likes a sore loser ... and sponsors want to pay you based on the number of fans you draw. So if it helps, think about it in terms of money.

Tennis is bigger than any one player or players from any era. However, fans or fickle and there are always going to be people who like a particular tennis player more than the game of tennis itself.

I think if they played they would trade wins and losses. I think Nadal in his prime beats Alcaraz in what is his prime now, but he still has time to grow and improve. And in a few years he may be such a better more consistent player he would have consistently beaten Federer, Nadal or Djokovic.
