Carlos Alcaraz is the new champion at Porte d'Auteuil. After an intense match, the Spaniard put an end to Zverev's dream and fulfilled his own.

Fulfilled, he insisted on the role played by those close to him, particularly his family. In a lovely tribute, he declared: "I want to talk a little more about my family. I'm lucky enough to have some of my family here, with my brothers and my mother. It's great to have you here with me to support me every day.

I also know that in all the tournaments where you're not here, from the TV, in the house, in your head, you support me and that's something extraordinary. As I've already said several times, I used to watch the tournament on TV when I was a kid. I used to watch this tournament on TV and dream of holding that trophy in front of everyone, so thank you for being with me all the way!"

Before leaving the Philippe Chatrier court, Alcaraz also wished to address the French public: "And the public, it's absolutely fantastic what you're doing.
