Dimitrov relieved: "Better late than never".
This Tuesday afternoon, Grigor Dimitrov takes part in his very first quarter-final at Roland Garros. Although he faces a tough task to reach the last four, as he will have to beat Jannik Sinner, it is already an achievement for the Bulgarian.
At the age of 33, the current world No.10 was almost beginning to doubt that he would ever reach this stage of the competition on Paris clay. He confided as much in a press conference.
Grigor Dimitrov: "I'm very happy to have managed to take this extra step here. It's what I've always wanted. Up until now, I always felt there was something stopping me from reaching the quarter-finals.
I wouldn't say I doubted I'd ever get there, but I did wonder. Better late than never."
