So the advances in racket and string technology have made players able to hit the ball much harder and still maintain control. Resulting in a much faster game. Fans prefer rallies that last longer than three or four shots, which was the result of the much faster play. So they're trying to slow the balls down to make the game more entertaining. My question is, with all the advances in the fabrication of strings and rackets, why can't those same type of advancements apply to making a tennis ball that plays the same for an extended amount of time?
