I don't understand the scoring, it turns out that there are two types of scoring, points make in this year and total points. This is so stupid.

The points come off for the tour finals, at which point Andy has a slight lead, but only if he wins today

Can someone tell me how Murray will become number 1 if he gets to the final? Djokovic is at 12160 after losing and Murray is 10890 so even if he gets 1000 points he won't exceed Djokovic points.

What am I missing here?
