French tennis is going thru a long crisis. No top 20, rarely a french player in week 2 of Slams ... Almost every RG there is the illusion of a new young star, but it's more the effect of the rowdy and unsportmanlike public of RG. They quickly turn into shooting stars. I remember Gaston, Moutet, Van Asche, now Kouamé. Only Fils developped into a solid player, unfortunately it appears to be too fragile for his intense hitting. Maybe the FFT should take example from the Italian one ...
