Bogdan a decent player but she was lucky to beat Cornet in round one. Bogdan had a few lengthy injury time outs. She got treatment to her abdominal area.

Cornet couldn't take advantage because she appeared hampered by injury too.

Cornet had been not playing recently due to a leg injury...it was her first match back from injury. But she clearly wasn't 100%

Konta had her first match of the clay court season so she can be forgiven for dropping a set against Wang.

Y.Wang has improved quite a bit in recent times so it was a good win for Konta



In this match one must go for Konta. She is the better player...and If the abdominal strain flares up again for Bogdan, she is toast!
