He had too many problems to perform at his best consistently, he changed his staff 8 or 9 month ago (and half of it in 2017, same in 2019) and been though multiple unlucky events in his personal life.

Also he just came back from an injury, and his career has been a rollercoaster of injuries (there's not that many people with the physical abilities of Rafa), he had eye edema (not sure about the English wording, this one is just the kind of injury fucking up training schedule and routines), tennis leg syndrom (at the bottom of his calf), multiple stress fractures, right ankle issues, groin trauma (don't know the English term, when adductors are affected after too many contractions while suddenly changing directions).

I've seen him on the court multiple times, he doesn't deserve to be called overrated, he's an athlete capable of a lot of things, just he's been way too many times unlucky and it stole some of the thunder of his career, last time was during Barcelona ...

Please .. he has been one of the most underrated players of late 2016-17, you need to remember what he's been through and what he's showing when he got the conditions to do it, he can have bad period like most players have in their career, don't use overrated if you have an issue with the frozen ranking, he still n*20 at the race at the moment.

He got multiple titles on Hard Court, and at least one on Clay, he's not a master of the surface but a real opponent
