"I'm taking a break and you all stay seated, damn it!": Jannik Sinner's rare anger in Paris
An unusual scene at the Rolex Paris Masters: Sinner, usually so impassive, let his nerves show. Annoyed by his team's attitude, he fired off a sharp remark at the changeover before regaining control of the match.
Generally calm and in control of his emotions on the court, Jannik Sinner this time let his frustration burst out during his quarter-final against Ben Shelton at the Rolex Paris Masters.
While leading 6-3, 3-2, the world No. 2 expressed his anger towards his team at the change of ends, blaming them for a lack of support after losing his service game: "I'm taking a break and you all stay seated, damn it!".
An unusual reaction for the Italian, who however quickly regained his composure to close out the match without faltering, 6-3, 6-3, in just over an hour. But the fatigue and tension accumulated over the weeks seem to be starting to weigh on Sinner, who is on his second consecutive tour here after Vienna.
