Our bodies can't take it anymore": Jack Draper sounds alarm on tennis' brutal schedule

After ending his season prematurely, Jack Draper has spoken out about players' conditions. "Our bodies can't keep up with this pace," warns the British player, with support from Taylor Fritz.
Jack Draper ended his season in September, opting to return in 2026 following an arm injury.
Amid a day marked by Holger Rune's Achilles tendon rupture in Stockholm, the British player expressed on his X account about the current difficulty of the schedule:
"Injuries are inevitable... In high-level sports, we push our bodies to do things they're not supposed to do.
There are so many young players on the tour right now and I'm proud to be among them. However, the tour and schedule need to adapt if we all want to achieve some longevity..."
Comments that were endorsed by Taylor Fritz: "We're also seeing many more injuries and burn-outs today than before, because the balls, courts and (playing) conditions have slowed down enormously. This makes the weekly effort even more demanding and taxing on the body.
