Wilander on Keys: "One of the best players never to have won a Grand Slam".
Madison Keys reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open on Wednesday.
This is the third time in her career that the American, who will make her return to the top 10 at the end of the tournament, will contest the last four in Melbourne.
In her bid to reach the second Grand Slam final of her career, she will face world number 2 Iga Swiatek.
On Eurosport, Keys' performance did not go unnoticed. Mats Wilander praised the 29-year-old.
"She seems to be playing more aggressively than usual. Iga hasn't yet come up against a player like Madison Keys who hits the ball hard.
If the American plays the way she does at this tournament, she has all the weapons to cause Swiatek problems on court.
She's going into this match with a lot of confidence, and there'll be no pressure on her shoulders.
She's been at this stage of the competition before, reaching the final of the US Open and the semi-finals of the Australian Open a few years ago.
As Jim Courier and John McEnroe once said, I've also always considered Madison Keys to be one of the best players never to have won a Grand Slam," assured the Swede.
Keys won the WTA tournament in Adelaide just before the start of the Australian Open and has won her last 10 matches, overcoming Haddad Maia, Ostapenko, Kasatkina, Pegula, Collins, Rybakina and Svitolina.
