Medvedev on Alcaraz and Sinner: "If I keep playing better and better, the gap will narrow"

Daniil Medvedev has shown signs of improvement in his game in recent weeks, marked by a title win in Almaty last week.
When asked about Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz by the media outlet Bolshe, the Russian stated: "The problem is that I haven't faced them this year because I wasn't playing well and wasn't at their level. They were playing very well at the time and often beating me.
They beat almost everyone, so the gap is huge. But anything can happen in a single tennis match. It was hot in Shanghai, and Sinner had cramps. We can hope for different things.
As for me, if I continue to play better and better, as I am doing now, the gap will narrow, not because they're playing worse, but because I'm playing better. So I'll try to work on that."
