Davis Cup - Kyrgios, Nishikori, Lehecka, Cilic... the full list of players called for the 1st round
The Davis Cup 2025 kicks off in early February with the 1st round, pitting 26 nations from around the world against each other.
In these matches, which will be played in a home/away format, several nations have decided to field their stars to give themselves every chance of reaching the quarter-finals of the competition.
While we already know that Novak Djokovic will be present for Serbia, Nick Kyrgios has also been called up for the match between Australia and Sweden.
The controversial 29-year-old will be part of a team including Alex De Minaur, Jordan Thompson and Thanasi Kokkinakis, led by Lleyton Hewitt.
Japan, up against Great Britain, can count on 35-year-old Nishikori, a recent finalist in Hong Kong. The Japanese team will have a great opportunity to play against a British team diminished by the absence of its No.1 Jack Draper.
Among the other nations, the Czech Republic have lined up Thomas Machac, Jiri Lehecka and Jakub Mensik to face South Korea.
Marin Cilic, who has yet to play this year, will be present with Croatia to take on Slovakia.
Finally, the United States will be without several leaders, as Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, Ben Shelton and Tommy Paul have not been called up by Bob Bryan. Alex Michelsen will be No.1 in the US squad for the trip to Taiwan.
