Marin Čilić, born September 28, 1988, in Međugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a professional Croatian tennis player known for his powerful serve and baseline play. He turned professional in 2005 and quickly rose through the ranks with his breakthrough year in 2014, when he won his first Grand Slam title at the US Open. Over his career, Čilić has won a total of 20 ATP singles titles. He has a career-high ATP singles ranking of World No. 3, achieved in January 2018.

Čilić has made significant runs in other Grand Slam tournaments as well, reaching the finals of Wimbledon in 2017 and the Australian Open in 2018, although he finished as the runner-up in both. He has also been an integral part of the Croatian Davis Cup team, helping lead them to victory in 2018. Marin has worked with notable coaches, including Goran Ivanišević, a fellow Croatian and former Wimbledon champion, as well as Ivan Cinkuš.

On a personal level, Čilić married his longtime girlfriend Kristina Milković in 2018, and the couple has welcomed two children.
