Roddick lashes out at Kyrgios after his comments about Cruz Hewitt: It's ridiculous

Andy Roddick doesn't spare Nick Kyrgios. The Australian, who has been away from the courts for several months, harshly criticized Jannik Sinner after he tested positive for clostebol during Indian Wells last year.

On several occasions, the former world number 13 took the opportunity to attack the Italian, both in the media and on social networks.

In recent days, Lleyton's son Cruz Hewitt has received an invitation to take part in the Australian Open qualifiers, at the age of 16.

A photo of him with Sinner was posted by the young Australian on social networks, which prompted a reaction from Kyrgios.

"I thought we were friends" or "I like you Cruz but this is complete rubbish", the Wimbledon 2022 finalist had written on Instagram.

Roddick, for his part, expressed his annoyance at Kyrgios's comments on his podcast: "Kyrgios was undoubtedly the most virulent when he criticized Jannik Sinner after his positive test.

Cruz Hewitt is 16 years old, the son of Lleyton, who is the toughest competitor I've ever faced in my life. He has the privilege of exchanging a few balls with the world number 1 at the Australian Open.

That's no mean feat. Imagine, at the age of almost 30, commenting on the publication of a 16-year-old with the best player in the world.

Guilty or not, it's an unforgettable moment for Hewitt.

This player simply posted a photo and then some guy comes into the comments and spins the story around him, making a big deal about it.

Everyone defended the idea that it was a joke. But not being aware of what you're doing by bringing in trolls is the worst thing in tennis. To do that in the comments of a 16-year-old is ridiculous," says Roddick.

Where was all this "lashing out" when Sinner failed 2 dr*g tests. They were all hiding but the minute Kyrgios says something about Sinner, they all come out of hiding with something to say 🙄😒

And just to be clear, Kyrgios commenting on Cruz Hewitts Instagram page was way over the top and unnecessary. It's just interesting though how they were all quite about Sinner testing positive twice but all wanna open the mouth when it's Kyrgios
