Keys on Fratangelo: He wasn't comfortable coaching me, I had to force him

Bjorn Fratangelo, recently retired from professional tennis, has turned his hand to coaching his wife, Madison Keys.

It was she who took the initiative of proposing this collaboration. She amusedly explains, "He wasn't comfortable coaching me, so I had to force him."

Fratangelo confirmed these remarks during his appearance on Andy Roddick's podcast: "I still had a lot of pain, so I couldn't hit the ball too hard.

I told her I wasn't too comfortable telling her what to do. But she insisted that she really needed help.

It became easier for me because the request came from her. I could sense at first that there was a lot of doubt and anxiety in the way she played.

The advantage of our collaboration is that we didn't have to go through the phase of getting to know each other; we already live together."
