Francisco Cerundolo beat world No.2 Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals of the Buenos Aires tournament yesterday.
After his defeat, the German had complained that the Argentine crowd was a little too boisterous, and that they were obviously fully behind his opponent.
In a press conference, Cerundolo reacted to Zverev's statements: "It's the same all over the world. It doesn't just happen here. When you play against a local player in France, in Brazil, they're always behind him.
They'll try to get you out of the match, get inside your head, shout at you, whistle at you... We're used to that.
It can happen once in a while that someone goes too far, but I think it happens the same way all over the world.
So it's a mental battle. If you can't handle it, it becomes a nightmare and you start to have difficulties on the court.
I've won and lost in these situations. When you lose, of course, you're annoyed."
