Zverev lashes out in Buenos Aires: "The public doesn't know how to behave during a tennis match".
Alexander Zverev will not see the last four in Argentina. Headlining the Buenos Aires tournament, the German, world number 2, was eliminated by Francisco Cerundolo (3-6, 6-3, 6-2).
During the match, Zverev was annoyed with the crowd, and assured some spectators that they should show the players a minimum of respect.
In a press conference after his defeat, Zverev expressed his displeasure at the attitude of certain people in the stands and shared his impressions.
"It was a difficult match given the weather conditions, it was very windy. I don't think either he or I played at our best, but in the end he played better than me throughout the match.
I loved Argentina. The only problem is that the public don't know how to behave during a tennis match.
It's sad, because the organization is brilliant, the tournament is excellent and the people who work here are great. But the public makes life difficult for you if you're not an Argentine player," laments Zverev.
