WTA 500 tournament draw in Adelaide: Collins-Jabeur and Haddad Maia-Keys start, Pegula and Ostapenko have their work cut out

After Brisbane, the second WTA 500 tournament of the season takes place next week in another Australian city, Adelaide.

Number 1 seed Jessica Pegula will kick off her 2025 season with some tough opposition.

The American, a finalist at the US Open in September, will be up against Mirra Andreeva and Linda Noskova, who will face each other from the outset.

A potential quarter-final against Paula Badosa or Marta Kostyuk could follow.

Number 2 seed Emma Navarro needs to kick-start her season after losing her opening match in Brisbane this week.

The American, for her part, has inherited a more forgiving draw, as she will start against Ekaterina Alexandrova or a player from the qualifiers.

Jelena Ostapenko, on the other hand, will have to work hard to get back to winning ways.

On a run of five consecutive defeats since the summer, the Latvian, ranked 17th in the world next Monday, will enter the tournament against Magdalena Frech before a possible meeting with Madison Keys or Beatriz Haddad Maia.

Danielle Collins, seeded No. 4, will also face Ons Jabeur in the first round in Adelaide.

The Tunisian, a quarter-finalist in Brisbane, is gradually regaining her form after ending her season in August prior to the US Open.
