Djokovic Qualifies for Turin… and a Record with Federer Back in Play

With his 4580 points in the Race, Novak Djokovic has secured his spot for Turin. However, as last year, the Serb is keeping the mystery alive about his attendance, as he could equal a record held by Federer.

Four Grand Slam semifinals, a final in Miami, a semifinal in Shanghai, and a title in Geneva were enough for Novak Djokovic to earn his qualification for the ATP Finals in Turin.

The Serb, with 4580 points on the board one month before the deadline, has mathematically confirmed his ticket. If he were to participate, he would equal the record of 17 appearances set by Roger Federer.

However, as last year, Djokovic is casting doubt on his participation. For now, he is only registered for the ATP 250 in Athens (November 2-8), a tournament organized by his family.

In case of a withdrawal from Turin, it would currently be Félix Auger-Aliassime who would benefit. The Canadian, competing in Brussels this week, is 10th in the Race (Draper, 9th, has ended his season).
